Privacy Policy
We collect what we need to make your leather goods and get them to your door — and nothing we'd be embarrassed to explain. No data selling, no ad targeting, no games.

What we collect
- When you order: your name, email, phone number, and shipping address — collected securely by Stripe at checkout. Your card number goes to Stripe directly and never touches our servers.
- When you write to us: whatever you put in the contact or wholesale form (name, email, company, message), plus your email history with us.
- If you subscribe: your email address, used only for the newsletter and offers you signed up for. Unsubscribe anytime.
- Automatically:aggregated, cookieless usage analytics (page views, country-level location) and the transient technical logs any hosting infrastructure produces. We don’t build individual profiles.
- On your device only:your shopping cart is stored in your browser’s session storage. It stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
How we use it
- Making, packing, shipping, and tracking your order.
- Order confirmations, delivery updates, and answers to your messages.
- Honouring returns and The Generations Guarantee — which is why we keep order records long-term.
- Fraud prevention during checkout (handled by Stripe).
- Understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
We do notsell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it with advertisers.
Who processes it for us
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy obligations. Because most are US-based, your information may be processed outside Canada.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it — and only then.
How long we keep it
- Order records: kept as long as tax law requires and for as long as your piece is covered by our lifetime guarantee — your order number is your warranty proof.
- Inquiries: kept while we resolve them and for a reasonable period after.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under Canada’s PIPEDA — and, where they apply to you, the GDPR/UK GDPR and California privacy laws — you can ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct it if it’s wrong.
- Delete it, where we’re not legally required to keep it.
- Stop sending you marketing (every email has an unsubscribe link too).
Email legacy@adamleather.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re unsatisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security & children
The site is served over TLS end to end, payment details are handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1), and we store no card numbers. No system is perfect, but we keep the surface small on purpose.
Our store isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from minors.
Changes & related policies
If we change this policy, the new version appears here with a new effective date; material changes get a notice on the site.
